In short, Tencel can be defined as, not literally, but metaphorically, a bi-product of cotton & silk as it has features of both fabrics - Shiny, Classy, Comfortable & Evergreen.
Wait!
It is even better than cotton as it does not get wrinkled so easily!
Best of all, it requires less energy & water when compared with conventional cotton & is Biodegradable which gives us all the more a reason to root for Tencel.
CURIOUS TO KNOW HOW IT’S MADE?
You know about Rayon (Viscose) right? I am sure you must have at least 5 clothes of this fabric! Tencel is similar to Rayon but the difference is that every process involved in creating Tencel contributes to creating a better world where not just fabric is breathable but also the air, water is in abundance & resources are not scarce.
Firstly, wood pulp is dissolved & mixed with solvents (environmentally conscious & reusable) to produce a wet mixture which is then squeezed out (extruded) through small holes to form threads that are spun into yarn & then converted to fabric.
Interesting! Right?!!
And guess what, every component used is compostable, meaning they can go back to Nature without creating any environmental damage.
WHY DO WE LOVE IT SO MUCH?
Well, answer a few questions first!
Don’t you look forward to clothes that are breathable & smooth for maximum comfort?
Don’t you want easy to use & durable fabrics?
